The Albino Cory (Corydoras aeneus) is a peaceful and hardy freshwater catfish known for its pale pink-white body, bright red eyes, and active schooling behaviour. A selectively bred form of the Bronze Corydoras, this species is highly popular in community aquariums for its gentle nature and constant bottom-level activity.
Best kept in groups, Albino Corys are social fish that thrive when schooling together across the substrate, scavenging for leftover food and helping maintain a clean aquarium environment. Their calm temperament makes them ideal companions for a wide range of tropical fish.
Feed sinking foods daily, including pellets and wafers designed for bottom dwellers. Supplement with frozen or live foods such as bloodworm and brine shrimp to maintain health and colour.
Prefers soft sand or fine gravel substrate to protect sensitive barbels. Provide hiding places such as driftwood, plants, and caves. Keep in groups of at least 6 for natural schooling behaviour and reduced stress.
Suitable for peaceful community fish such as tetras, guppies, rasboras, dwarf gourami, and shrimp (with caution in heavily stocked shrimp breeding tanks). Avoid aggressive or large predatory fish.
A friendly, active, and highly social bottom-dweller, the Albino Cory is an excellent addition to any peaceful freshwater aquarium, bringing constant movement and charm to the substrate level.
