The Bicolour Blenny (Ecsenius bicolor) is a popular reef-safe fish admired for its unique two-tone colouration, featuring a rich blue-grey front half that transitions into a vibrant orange-yellow tail. At approximately 5cm, this juvenile is an ideal addition to reef and marine community aquariums.
Known for its playful personality, the Bicolour Blenny spends much of its day perched on rocks and corals, darting between hiding places and grazing on algae. Its entertaining behaviour and natural algae-control abilities make it a favourite among marine aquarists.
Feed a varied diet including marine algae, spirulina-based foods, quality marine pellets, and occasional frozen mysis shrimp or brine shrimp. While it grazes naturally on algae, supplemental feeding is essential for long-term health.
Provide a mature aquarium with plenty of live rock, caves, and crevices for grazing and shelter. Stable water parameters and moderate water flow will help this species thrive.
